Drop off and Pick up

Important Update

Strandwood is working to switch to a more closed campus for student safety. This includes the following changes that we ask all visitors to adhere to:

  • The campus (including fields and blacktops) is closed to the public from 8:15am-2:40pm (12:55pm on Wednesdays).
  • Every adult on campus during school hours must be a staff member or a registered volunteer with a sticker.
  • Parents for grades 1-5 must drop students off at the fence rather than the classroom door.
  • Pedestrians from Monte Circle or Westover must use designated perimeter paths to reach the office rather than cutting across the blacktop.

Supervision

All classrooms and playgrounds are under adult supervision at all times during school hours. Students are expected to follow school rules. Supervision is available from 7:55 a.m. until 10 minutes post-dismissal. Office staff cannot supervise students outside these times.

Arrival: Students wait at class lines; use C-wing restrooms. No roaming.

Dismissal: Students must be picked up within 10 minutes of the bell. Late students are brought to the office for parent sign-out.

Drop off and Pick up

  • Students should be on campus for the 8:05 a.m. start.
  • Before and after school, parents are welcome to wait with their student in front of the school, on the 3rd-5th grade blacktop, or 1st/2nd grade blacktop. Please do not be in the hallways.
  • For the safety of all students and staff, please keep pets at home. They will not be permitted on campus.
  • Use the right lane of the circle for drop-off/pick-up; pull forward as far as possible.
  • Do not exit vehicles from the left lane and do not leave your car while in the drop off/pick up circle.
  • Yield to crosswalks and be aware of pedestrians.
  • Students wait in the designated pick-up zone in front of the cafeteria.
  • Parking is prohibited in bus (yellow), red, or handicapped zones without a placard.

 

Walk bikes to racks and lock them. Store skateboards/scooters in classrooms with teacher approval. Riding on campus is prohibited; the school is not responsible for loss or damage. Parking is available on Gladys Dr, Helen Rd, Monti Cir, or Westover Dr. The yellow curb is for quick drop-off/pick-up only. Do not block neighbor driveways or park in red zones.
