School Councils
Parents are welcome to be part of our School Committees. Our School Site Council is a council of parents and staff that oversee the Single Plan for Student Achievement. Elections occur in August for two-year terms. The English Learner Advisory Committee is for all families of students who have been identified as English learners because their home language may not only be English. This committee advises the School Site Council about best ways to support multi-lingual students. Finally, Strandwood plans to start an African American Parent Advisory Council for black families to be able to advise on supports for their students.
