2016-17 School Climate Survey Information

Strandwood Elem is looking for parents and community members to share their perceptions about the school.  Your participation is voluntary but very important.  The information will help guide district and school efforts to promote safety, enhance learning, and improve student achievement.  Results will also help inform Mt. Diablo Unified’s Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP.)    This is an anonymous survey designed so that no one can be identified from the data.  The questions apply to this school only.  The results will be used for school site and Mt. Diablo Unified program planning.  The window will be open from February 6, 2017- March 30, 2017.

If you have more than one child at this school, you will only need to complete one survey for this school.  Please fill out just one survey about the school using your oldest child as a reference.

Access to login page for the survey using the following URL: surveys.wested.org/csps/NX462JD?lang=en

Use the following school code and click the Take Survey button:

School Code (case sensitive):  KP69JK

If you have questions about this survey, please contact Jennifer Sachs, Executive Director of Instructional Support, at (925) 682-8000 x 4016.

There are several openings on next year’s Executive Board.  Our PTA plays a critical role in the success of our school and we can’t do it without strong leadership.  There are roles available for all types of parents: working parents, stay-at-home parents, creative types, analytical types, you name it, we have a spot for you.  If you are interested in serving on next year’s board, you can complete the attached form and turn it into the PTA basket in the office by Feb 28th.  If you have questions, or concerns, please contact us at:  (either nominating committee email or vpways@strandwoodpta.org).

 Strandwood Elementary School

Your child must be 5 years of age on or before December 2, 2017 to be enrolled for the 2017-2018 school year.  Students born between 9/2/2012 and 12/2/2012 will enter TK.  Students born between 9/2/2011 and 9/1/2012 will enter Kindergarten.

Parents can begin the registration process online anytime (https://air.mdusd.org/air/), which is preferred, and then pick up a supplemental packet in the office or parents can pick up a complete paper registration packet in the office for completion.

Included in the supplemental packet are documents that pertain to Strandwood, including a request for early or late friend assignment.  A lottery system will be used to select the student’s assignments.

TK and Kindergarten registration day will be held on Tuesday, February 7th at Strandwood in the B-1 classroom.  This year, we offered a no-wait appointment through SignUpGenius, however, these appointments are all full.  You can drop in 9:00am – 2:00pm (wait times will vary).  Your student does not need to be present.

Please bring the online printout and/or the completed paperwork along with the following documents:

  1. Address verification documents – see pink form
  2. Original birth certificate of student
  3. Immunization record
    1. Please note that health/dental forms should not be completed by the medical provider until March or later- they do not need to be turned in at the time of registration.

**A child cannot attend school without complete and up-to-date immunizations**

If you cannot attend registration day, you can email strandattend@mdusd.org with REGISTRATION APPT in the subject line and an email will be sent to make an appointment via SignUpGenius to complete the registration process.
